Ryabkov announced new talks between Russia and the US next week

New negotiations between Russia and the United States will take place at the end of next week. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said this on Sunday, February 23.

"We are waiting for real progress when the meeting scheduled for the end of the beginning week will take place," he told TASS.

It is specified that the meeting will be held at the level of heads of departments of foreign policy agencies.

At the same time, the diplomat noted that Russia is open to dialog with the US, in particular, on irritants in bilateral relations.

Thefirst stage of talks between the Russian and US delegations took place on February 18 in Riyadh. Following the meeting, the U.S. State Department said that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov agreed to appoint high-level negotiating teams to begin work on resolving the Ukrainian conflict.

Ryabkov told Izvestia on February 23 that the second stage of U.S.-Russian talks would be held at the level of department heads. According to Euronews, US President Donald Trump said that Moscow and Washington will hold talks on Tuesday, February 25. The venue is expected to be Riyadh again.
