Sobyanin laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier


Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin takes part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden on Defender of the Fatherland Day. A minute of silence was also held there in memory of the fallen heroes.
As the mayor noted, thanks to the efforts of the soldiers, "our country survived the most difficult trials of the Great Patriotic War." "We will never forget the feat of our people!", - wrote Sobyanin in his Telegram-channel.
Earlier on February 23, the mayor of Moscow congratulated veterans, servicemen and participants of the special military operation on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. According to Sobyanin, this holiday is a symbol of "deep respect for the martial labor" and "immense gratitude to soldiers of all generations."
"The Great Victory, the 80th anniversary of which we celebrate this year, is an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength," the mayor emphasized. - The unparalleled feat of our front-line soldiers inspires today the participants of the special military operation".
Sobyanin wished the Russian soldiers "strong health, vigor of spirit, prosperity and new successes" in serving the Motherland.
