Foreign companies are probing the prospects of returning to Russia. This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov on Sunday, February 23.

"Clearly there is probing in the information field. But the issue here is different, that the whole information wave has worried our business enough," he told reporters on the sidelines of the 5th intergovernmental Russian-Myanmar commission on trade and economic cooperation, his words were quoted by TASS.

Reshetnikov noted that Russia has not yet received any legal appeals from foreign brands.

Domestic business has contributed a lot of money to its development and will remain a priority, the minister emphasized.

Earlier, on February 20, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov said that only those foreign companies, which the Russian Federation considers necessary for itself, will be allowed to enter the Russian market. At the same time, he noted that in the most important sectors for technological sovereignty, absolute priority will be given to domestic companies and brands from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova named the conditions for the return of Western companies to resume work in Russia. For example, they need to respect Russia's history, its heroes, including participants in special operations and Russian journalists.
