The State Duma compared the EU to a collapsing hostel

After being dragged into the conflict in Ukraine, the European Union (EU) has become like a collapsing dormitory. This statement was made by State Duma member Mikhail Sheremet on 23 February.
He called dragging the association into the Ukrainian conflict a fatal mistake of the states, noting that the crisis has destroyed the stability of the European economy and shaken the unity.
"Already today, the European Union resembles a multi-room collapsing dormitory in which each tenant will bang loudly with his door, causing cracks in the ceiling and crumbling plaster in their neighbors," Sheremet said in a conversation with "RIA Novosti".
In particular, the MP noted the negative impact of the policy of France and Germany, which "neglected national interests and spit on the position of other participating countries."
On February 23, the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, called the idea of sending European troops to Ukraine suicidal. According to him, the EU is unlikely to make such a decision. He also specified that the association is used to feeling protected under the security umbrella of the USA, but this step is assessed in Washington as the EU's own operation.
