Sobyanin congratulated the participants of the North-West Military District on the Defender of the Fatherland Day

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin congratulated veterans, servicemen and participants of a special military operation on Defender of the Fatherland Day.

As the city mayor noted, this holiday is a symbol of "deep respect for military labor" and "immense gratitude to soldiers of all generations."

"The Great Victory, the 80th anniversary of which we celebrate this year, is an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength," Sobyanin wrote in his Telegram channel. - The unparalleled feat of our front-line soldiers inspires today the participants of the special military operation".

According to the Mayor of Moscow, the courage, fortitude and patriotism demonstrated by the defenders of the Fatherland are forever inscribed in the heroic history of the Motherland.

Sobyanin also wished the Russian soldiers "strong health, vigor, well-being and new successes in serving Russia."

Earlier this week Sobyanin said that for the holiday Muscovites and volunteers collected more than 30 thousand gifts for the participants of the NWO. These are warm clothes, care products, sweets and cards with wishes and words of support.

The action was held at more than 50 sites throughout the city. It involved not only residents, but also organizations: schools and colleges, state institutions and enterprises, commercial companies. For example, the Zelenograd Palace of Children and Youth Creativity handed over a box of drawings and a package of postcards. There is a QR code on them, with the help of which it is possible to listen to stories for fathers and grandfathers, who are in the zone of SWO.

As the mayor reminded, Muscovites all the year round collect the necessary things for the participants of the SWO, make camouflage nets, sew things, together with children write letters and send them to the front.
