Medvedev called the NWO the only true solution for Russia's defense

The Special Military Operation (SMO) was the only way to protect Russia and its citizens. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev on February 23.

According to him, the decision to conduct a special operation had to be made "when the point of no return" in the issue of confrontation with Western countries was finally passed.

"The only way left was to protect our homeland and its citizens, to push back the enemy from its borders. Time has shown that this difficult decision was the only right and possible," Medvedev wrote in a congratulatory message on Defender of the Fatherland Day in his Telegram channel.

The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council noted the cohesion and resilience of Russians in the fight against the enemy. He added that the fight against "neo-Nazism" is not yet complete, but "the outcome is already close", specifies "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated veterans, personnel and civilian staff of the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. The head of state noted that the holiday epitomizes the nationwide love and respect for the army and navy of the country, as well as for people, for whom the military path has become a profession with a high calling.

The history of the Defender of the Fatherland Day is more than 100 years old. It was first celebrated in 1919 as the Day of the Red Army on the anniversary of its formation. Then the holiday was called the Day of the Soviet Army, and later - the Day of the Soviet Army and Navy. This name it carried until 1992. Three years later, the current name appeared.
