Demand for men's socks has increased on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, and the figures for February 20, 2024 compared to the same date of the current year have increased several times. This was reported in the press service of the hypermarket chain "O'KEY" on February 23.

Demand growth began on February 15 and became maximum on February 19-20. Compared to the previous year, it increased by 3.5 times.

In some cities of Russia the values are even higher. In Novosibirsk sales increased by 420%, in Togliatti - 370%. In a number of hypermarkets there are no men's socks available at all. This is mainly observed in the Moscow and Leningrad regions.

"Agitated purchases of socks before February 23 are a traditional phenomenon for Russian retail, but this year we are seeing particularly strong growth. It is hard to say how serious these purchases are or whether they are already a joke in addition to the main gift for February 23. But, in any case, Russian men will definitely not be left without socks," - commented a representative of "O'KEY " "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, February 21, it was reported that on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day Russian men began to buy bicycles en masse - sales of this type of transport from February 1 to 18 increased by 52% compared to the same period last year.
