According to the channel, citing sources in the Pentagon, the launch was made on February 19. The Houthis used an anti-aircraft missile system against a U.S. F-16 fighter jet flying over the coast of Yemen. The missile did not hit the target.

As the representatives of the U.S. Defense Department emphasized, the switch to a new type of weapons is another round of tension between the Houthis and the States.

Earlier, on January 23, US President Donald Trump initiated the process of re-recognizing the ruling Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) in the north of Yemen as a foreign terrorist organization.
