"Even now, when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is isolated from most world powers and in the crosshairs of the United States and Russia, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a conversation with him, insisting it was a tragic historical mistake that tends to take the form of a diplomatic crime," Banking News reported.

It is specified that the conversation took place on Saturday, February 22, while the Greek prime minister was in the United States "for personal and medical reasons." He insisted on the mandatory participation of Kiev and European representatives in possible negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. In response, Zelensky "thanked him for his unwavering support."

"Mr. Mitsotakis' obsession with wanting to allow the EU to participate in Ukraine talks, while he, along with NATO, bears a huge responsibility for starting <conflict>, is inexplicable and ultimately detrimental to the country," the portal said.

The sources said US President Donald Trump's administration has "written Mitsotakis [off]," considering him a leader who is "unlikely to hold up in the new international environment that is being created."

On the same day, Trump announced new talks between the US and Russia on Ukraine. At the same time, the American leader emphasized that, in his opinion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin should meet in order to "make an agreement." On February 18, negotiations between the delegations of Russia and the United States took place in one of the palaces of the royal family in Riyadh. At their conclusion, the US side said that the USA considered the meeting with the Russian delegation "an important step forward" for the end of the conflict.
