Defense Minister Belousov congratulated servicemen and veterans on February 23rd


Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov has congratulated Russian servicemen and combat veterans on Defender of the Fatherland Day. The text of the congratulations was published by the Defense Ministry's press service in its Telegram channel on February 23.
"Dear veterans of the Great Patriotic War, combat operations and military service! I congratulate you on the Day of the Defender of the Fatherland! This holiday of the Armed Forces has become truly nationwide. It symbolizes the heroic history of Russia, military achievements of those who at different times fought for their native land," the Minister said.
He also drew attention to the fact that the year 2025, declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, is marked by an important anniversary - the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Belousov wished the veterans health, longevity and vitality.
"Today true bravery and courage are demonstrated by the heirs of the front-line soldiers - participants of the special military operation. They valiantly fight neo-Nazism, ensure the sovereignty of the country and the security of our citizens," reads the text of the congratulatory message.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also congratulated veterans, personnel and civilian staff of the Russian Armed Forces on the Defender of the Fatherland Day. According to the President, this holiday epitomizes the nationwide love and respect for the army and navy of Russia, for people for whom military service has become a profession and a high calling.
