Sgt. Laptev discovered a camouflaged AFU stronghold

Private Yaroslav Sotnikov conducted aerial reconnaissance and detected the movement of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) towards the positions of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). On Sunday, February 23, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the zone of the special military operation (SMO).
Sotnikov, as part of a unit of motorized riflemen, participated in the defense of one of the important sections of the line of contact. He was conducting reconnaissance with the help of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and noticed the movement of enemy military equipment. Immediately relaying the information to his command, Sotnikov began to correct the fire of Russian artillerymen, informing them of the coordinates of the targets' locations. During the attack, the enemy suffered serious losses of equipment and personnel, as a result of which it was forced to retreat.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courageous and decisive actions of Sergeant Kirill Laptev, who discovered camouflaged fire points and an AFU stronghold while advancing through the terrain with his assault team.
Laptev immediately contacted his command and relayed the information along with the coordinates. An artillery strike was launched on the target. This contributed to the further successful liberation of the settlement nearby.
The day before, the agency reported that Senior Lieutenant Andrei Kiselev demined more than 1.1 thousand explosive objects (EOE) and laid more than 200 safe passages in mine and explosive barriers.
