Orban ironically commented on the EU's role in Ukraine negotiations

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that the European Union (EU) countries look like losers in their efforts to be involved in negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He said in his keynote speech on the 2024 outcome on February 22.
"If you want to sit at the table where the big guys are playing, look around and find a loser. If you don't find one, know that it's you," Index.hu quoted the Hungarian prime minister as saying about the summit in Paris.
On the same day, Orban said that Ukraine will not join NATO, but will become a buffer zone between the alliance and Russia. According to him, the conflict in Ukraine arose because NATO tried to take control over this territory.
