An employee of a Kiev bank has refused to serve a visitor in Russian. A video of her dialog with the client was published by the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian daily Strana on February 22.

In the video, the woman interrupts the visitor, saying that she does not understand Russian. In the end, the employee refuses to serve the man.

"You can go to another place where they understand the Russian language. I don't understand Russian," she told the customer.

Earlier, on January 30, the language ombudsman of Ukraine Taras Kremin complained about the Russian language in the country's TV airwaves.

Before that, on January 28, Ukrainian political analyst Kostyantyn Bondarenko said that young people in the country have started to predominantly speak Russian, especially in large cities. He argues that the active promotion of Ukrainian paradoxically contributes to the strengthening of Russian in Ukraine in the long run.
