Tennis player Andreeva won her first career WTA 1000 title at the age of 17

Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva defeated Denmark's Klara Towson on February 22 and became the winner of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai.

In the final, Andreeva, the 14th-ranked player in the world, took the upper hand with the score 7:6 (7:1), 6:1. The meeting lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes.

Andreeva won her second career title and first WTA 1000 title. The Russian became the youngest winner of the WTA 1000 tournament (17 years 299 days) since the format was introduced in 2009.

Towson is ranked 38th in the world.
