After the Russian military liberated the Novolubovka settlement, only 0.5 percent of the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by military expert and retired LNR Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko on February 22.

"Recently [the Russian Defense Ministry] announced a figure that the occupied territory of the LNR is less than 1%. With the liberation of Novolubovka, this percentage drops to half a percent," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the expert, the AFU military are still present in two settlements - Petrovske in the Svatovskiy municipal district and Belogorovka in the Lisichansk district.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that units of the "West" military group had liberated the village of Novolubovka in the Luhansk People's Republic.

Before that, on February 21, the Russian Defense Ministry presented footage of the destruction of the AFU drones "Baba Yaga" in the LNR. The enemy's drones were hit by precise ammunition drops from the UAVs of the 25th Combined Armed Forces Army of the "West" group of troops in the special operation zone.
