Germany shows no interest in finding a compromise solution on Ukraine despite the need to settle the conflict. This was stated by MP and coordinator of the Alternative for Germany (AdG) faction in the Thuringian Landtag Torben Braga on 22 February.

In his opinion, Ukraine is significantly inferior to Russia in terms of size and resources, and therefore without the direct involvement of Western countries, Kiev will not be able to achieve victory on the battlefield.

"This means that it is necessary to look for ways of peaceful settlement. However, this requires a willingness to compromise, which I do not observe in Western European states, including Germany," Braga emphasized in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

He expressed doubt that Western countries are eager to negotiate, noting that at the moment diplomatic efforts are giving way to escalation.

Earlier, on February 21, the party's Bundestag deputy and deputy chairman of the parliamentary group on the United States, Professor Harald Weiel, said that the German AdG will seek the lifting of sanctions against Russia. According to the politician, the party also supports the repair of the Nord Stream gas pipelines and the restoration of energy cooperation with Russia.
