FRG launches investigation into possible sabotage on the frigate Hessen


German authorities are investigating a possible sabotage on the frigate Hessen of the German Navy. This was reported by the Spiegel edition on February 22.
"It is suspected that an attempt was made to contaminate the frigate's drinking system with dozens of liters of waste oil. The frigate "Hesse" is currently moored at the naval base in Wilhelmshaven", - stated in the material.
It was specified that the incident occurred on February 20.
According to the publication, this is not the first case of sabotage in the German army. Thus, on February 18, the prosecutor's office of the German city of Rostock began an investigation on suspicion of sabotage on another ship of the German Navy. During repairs at the Tamsen shipyard in the port of Rostock found cut cable harnesses.
Prior to that, on February 11, Germany launched an investigation into suspected sabotage after unknown people poured metal shavings into the engine of the new corvette Emden.
On August 14, the German Defense Ministry confirmed that the barracks of the Bundeswehr Air Force airbase in Cologne was broken into by unknown persons. According to Der Spiegel, a water pipe was contaminated as a result.
On August 16, the military found a hole in the fence of a Bundeswehr barracks near Munich.
