- Bloomberg has learned about the EU's discussion of a new aid package for Kiev for €20 billion

The European Union (EU) is negotiating a new military aid package for Ukraine worth €20bn, the Bloomberg news agency reported on 22 February, citing sources.
It is noted that the preparation of new aid is related to the desire to provide support to the Ukrainian side in connection with the intention of US President Donald Trump to reach a peaceful settlement with Russia as soon as possible.
It is specified that the package will include artillery ammunition, air defense systems (air defense systems), deep precision-guided missiles, drones and other types of weapons. In addition, the support will ensure the strengthening of brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
According to the material, to help Ukraine, the EU wants to agree on an initiative on direct contributions - monetary and material - of the association's countries and partners.
The EU plans to agree to the initiative at a meeting of foreign ministers of member countries, which will be held next week. According to Bloomberg, the deadline may be disrupted due to Hungary's refusal to provide the Ukrainian side with military aid and Germany's preoccupation with the results of the early parliamentary election.
The Politico newspaper reported on February 18 that the EU was preparing a new aid package for Ukraine worth more than 6bn euros, adding that it was not known whether the entire EU would approve the package.
The Institute for the World Economy (IfW) reported on 14 February that the West had allocated about €267bn in aid to Ukraine over the past three years. It is specified that about €130bn was allocated for military aid, €118bn for financial support and the remaining €19bn for humanitarian aid.
