Russia wants to start working with the United States as soon as possible "to eliminate irritants" in bilateral relations. This was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on February 22.

"There is an agreement in principle to hold appropriate comprehensive consultations for a systematic and detailed workout of the entire block of so-called irritants," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He also noted that the approach to the issues of "irritants" in relations between Moscow and Washington was conveyed back in Riyadh.

Ryabkov added that a meeting between the Russian and American sides at the expert level could take place "in the range of the next two weeks." At the moment, the Russian Federation is waiting for the definition of an interlocutor from the United States in these negotiations.

Deputy Foreign Minister specified that the meeting will be held in a third country, the specific place has not yet been agreed.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on February 21 said the need for the U.S. and Russia to establish diplomatic relations, as well as to conduct a dialog between the states. In his opinion, it is necessary to restore the work of the U.S. embassy in Moscow, which is now "barely functioning".
