TheUSA may cut off access to the Starlink satellite system in Ukraine, which belongs to the company of US billionaire Ilon Musk's company SpaceX. This was reported by Reuters on February 22, citing sources.

It is noted that Starlink provides a "vital" connection to the Internet on Ukrainian territory.

"Ukraine works on Starlink. They consider it their polar star. <...> Losing Starlink will be a huge blow," the agency quoted one of the sources as saying.

According to the sources, the issue of Kiev's access to Starlink was raised at talks between US and Ukrainian officials after Kiev regime head Volodymyr Zelensky rejected US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's initial proposal on rare earth metals.

The topic was also raised at a meeting between Zelenskyy and US special envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg. According to the unnamed source, if Kiev fails to reach an agreement on the minerals, the country "faces an imminent shutdown of supplies."

US President Donald Trump said on February 21 that he had warned Ukraine of problems if it refused to conclude a deal on rare earth minerals. Later, the head of state expressed doubts about Kiev's availability of resources.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that the USA and Ukraine might sign an agreement on rare-earth metals on Saturday, February 22.
