The talks between the Russian and American delegations in Riyadh speak of the death of the collective West. This was reported on February 21 by the Italian publication L'AntiDiplomatico.

As the authors of the publication noted, the composition of the West's diplomatic tables has turned "upside down" with the coming to power of US President Donald Trump's administration, and if Washington used to negotiate with its allies first and then sit down at the negotiating table, things are different now.

"Washington deals directly with the great powers (in this case Russia) without consulting anyone beforehand, and then without respite calls on former allied countries to accept what has been created. The concept of a collective West can be considered dead!" - the article said.

The journalists also pointed to the geographical symbolism of the meeting of the Russian and US delegations outside the European space.

"This is a devastating message that clarifies how the old continent has become irrelevant and noteworthy as a second-rate semi-colony to which the great powers do not attach much importance," the text said.

On this day, Trump announced new talks between the US and Russia in Saudi Arabia, to be held on February 25. At the same time, the American leader emphasized that, in his opinion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin should meet in order to "make an agreement".
