Trump directed Hegseth to nominate candidates for five additional positions

US President Donald Trump on February 21 directed US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to make nominations for five additional high-level positions to be announced soon.
"Directed Secretary Hegseth to make nominations for five additional high-level positions to be announced soon," he wrote on his Truth Social network.
The president also nominated Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan "Razin" Kaine to be the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. According to Trump, during his first term, Razin was instrumental in the complete destruction of the ISIS ("Islamic State", IS, an organization recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia) caliphate.
"This was done in record time, a matter of weeks. Many so-called military 'geniuses' said it would take years to defeat ISIL. General Kaine, on the other hand, said it could be done quickly, and he did," he noted.
The U.S. Senate on February 20 approved the nomination of Cash Patel, President Donald Trump's nominee to head the FBI. Fifty-one senators voted in favor of the nominee's appointment, 49 voted against.
