Trump questioned Ukraine's possession of rare earth metals

Ukraine 's possession of rare earth metals is questionable, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News Radio on Thursday, February 21.
According to the American leader, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Washington an agreement on rare earth metals, but the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who arrived in Kiev, could not reach a final agreement and did not receive confirmation of Ukraine's possession of such minerals.
"Who knows how much rare earth metals are worth, but at least it's something. Who knows how much these are worth? Who knows if they even have them?" - Trump noted.
On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump's national security aide Mike Waltz said that Zelensky will sign an agreement with the United States on minerals.
Earlier, on February 20, it was reported that Trump may try to conclude a simplified agreement to obtain minerals from Ukraine. On the same day, he said Kiev had derailed the rare earth metals deal. According to him, the USA handed over $350 billion in aid to Ukraine and now cannot get the money back.
