Trump has not ruled out imposing the death penalty on drug traffickers

US President Donald Trump said that he does not rule out the possibility of some states introducing the death penalty for drug traffickers. He said this during a meeting with a forum of governors on February 21.
"I think at the state level you can do it - [introduce] the death penalty for drug traffickers. But do it only if you want to get rid of drugs," the American leader said.
According to him, the adoption of such legislative decisions should be made by governors at the level of each individual state.
A day earlier, representatives of the US Republican Party presented a bill on the country's complete withdrawal from the United Nations (UN). It noted that lawmakers are concerned that the international organization does not defend the interests of Americans and does not comply with the program of the President of the United States "America First".
