She emphasized that there are currently 30,000 US troops on German territory.

"What can Berlin oppose them? American nuclear weapons in the FRG are not controlled by the German government," she informed.

The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman also pointed to the "exsanguination" of German business as a result of the undermining of the strings of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines. According to her, the order to do so was given by previous US President Joe Biden "and his team".

"So much how much evil the German regime has done to us, it's hard to even describe. But I still feel sorry for the Germans, especially the eastern Germans - not all of them deserve such perversion. Among them there are many decent intelligent people, anti-fascists, true patriots who understand the deep interests of the German people," Maria Zakharova said.
