The expert named the causes of paint flaking on the car bodywork

The varnish on the car body can flake off due to the wrong choice of cleaning agents or temperature difference. This was reported on February 21 by Igor Boyarsky, Director of Service and Spare Parts Department of Avilon Tank.

"Unsuitable chemical cleaning agents, such as solvents, as well as reagents for road treatment in winter easily damage the lacquer layer," he noted in conversation with "Gazeta.Ru".

The expert pointed out that chipping the lacquer can also damage its structure, and flaking can begin even after a small scratch. Through such small damages dirt gets under the coating layer, which accelerates the deterioration of its quality.

He drew attention to the fact that in the heat car paint can quickly dry out and crack, and in the cold it becomes brittle.

Boyarsky specified that excessive moisture that accumulates inside the car can cause peeling of varnish, because the liquid penetrates under its layer. At that, as a rule, it collects in hard-to-reach places - wheel arch recesses or under plastic overlays.

If the anti-corrosion coating on the car is broken or absent at all, the metal can be damaged by rust under the paint, which can then begin to crumble. To avoid this, it is necessary to carry out preventive maintenance of the car and use quality protective products, concluded the expert.
