US President Donald Trump may make a visit to Moscow to celebrate the anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was reported by the French magazine Le Point on February 21.

"According to our sources, Donald Trump is scheduled to be an important guest on May 9 at the Moscow tribunes, next to [Russian President] Vladimir Putin," the publication said.

Earlier, on February 20, former Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek said that the dialog launched between the United States and Russia, marks a victory for the Russian Federation. The minister noted that Trump invited Putin to Washington and Putin invited Trump to Moscow, saying that this is a victory for the Russian leader.

Putin in late December 2024 called to promote the victory over Nazism in 2025 as a common value for all mankind. At the same time, the head of state said he was expecting the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow on May 9, 2025. It was announced that representatives of the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition will receive invitations. In addition, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo confirmed their readiness to come.

In 2025, May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II. In January 1945, the Soviet army launched an offensive on Berlin. As a result of hostilities at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed an act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of World War II.
