Lavrov spoke about the tragicomic element in Callas' performance at the G20

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has characterized the performance of EU diplomacy chief Kai Kallas at the G20 summit in South Africa as tragicomic. He said this during a press conference on the results of the meeting in Johannesburg.
"Kaya Kallas spoke here, at the G20, with the usual set of accusations and voiced some plans that would allegedly deprive Russia of its rightful place in the world order. There is a certain tragicomic aspect to this," he said.
The Russian Foreign Minister also noted that the West's confrontational mindset has gone nowhere, Gazeta.Ru added.
"This mentality has not disappeared anywhere. When the Soviet Union collapsed, we had to build new relations: either you are with us or against us," Lavrov said.
Lavrov arrived in Johannesburg on February 20 to attend the G20 foreign ministers' meeting. South Africa took over the G20 presidency from Brazil on December 1 last year.
At the meeting, the Russian Foreign Minister noted that all previous attempts by the West to Ukrainianize the G20 agenda had been "torpedoed" by the other members of the association. He also emphasized that in recent years Russia has noted a large number of problems, including in Palestine, in the Gaza Strip and in general in the Middle East.
The previous G20 summit was held on November 18-19 in the Brazilian capital and was dedicated to "building a just world and a sustainable planet." The Russian delegation at the summit was also headed by Lavrov.
