Antifrod system prevented 33 mln calls from spoofed numbers in January

A total of 1,152 telecom operators have already been connected to the Antifrod system, and their total number capacity is 99.6%, Roskomnadzor (RKN) told Izvestia on February 21. It noted that the platform has shown its effectiveness - the share of calls with number substitution has decreased: in January 2024, 68.9 million calls from spoofed numbers were prevented, in January 2025 - 32.9 million.

"Roskomnadzor created the Antifraud information system to identify and prevent calls from spoofed numbers. Number spoofing technology is often used by fraudsters for their calls. To date, 1152 telecom operators are connected to the system, their total number capacity is 99.6%. The system shows its efficiency - the share of calls with number substitution has significantly decreased," the service said.

Thus, in 2023 about 102.4 billion calls were checked, in 2024 - 158 billion calls. The system prevented 756.7 million calls from spoofed numbers in 2023, in 2024 - 606 million such calls.

"In January 2024, the Antifrod system checked 9.3 billion calls, in January 2025 - 11.6 billion calls. The system prevented in January 2024 68.9 million calls from spoofed numbers, in January 2025 - 32.9 million such calls", - specified in the RKN.

Earlier, January 20, it was reported that the most frequent scenario of telephone fraud in 2024 was the offer to allegedly extend the contract with the telecom operator. This follows from the data of the company "Yandex". Also often scammers promised to issue or increase the benefits paid, increase the size of the pension or recalculate payments taking into account the missed seniority or data.
