The German far-right party Alternative for Germany (AdG) will seek the lifting of sanctions against Russia. Professor Harald Weiel, a Bundestag deputy from the party and deputy chairman of the parliamentary group on the United States, said this on Friday, February 21.

"If the AdG enters the government coalition, we will seek the lifting of European sanctions against Russia at the level of the Council of Ministers of the European Union," he said in an interview with Lenta.Ru.

According to the politician, the party also supports the repair of the Nord Stream gas pipelines and the restoration of energy cooperation with Russia.

"But most importantly, we will stop state propaganda, which today forms the image of an inevitable war with Russia in the German population," he concluded.

February 18, a member of the Bundestag from the party "Alternative for Germany" Kai Gottschalk said that the FRG authorities should lift sanctions and the bank blockade against Russia, including the resumption of transfers through the SWIFT system, reports NSN.

Earlier, on February 17, European Commissioner for Industrial Strategy and Vice President of the European Commission Stefan Cerjune said that he was "ashamed of Americans" after the speech of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance at a conference in Munich.

According to him, Vance prefers to meet with AdG President Alice Weidel rather than with German Chancellor Olov Scholz.

In turn, political scientist Gregor Spitzen said on February 21 that Scholz is leaving office with the worst personal rating in the country's history - about 22-23%, according to 360.ru.
