Every year on March 8, Russia celebrates International Women's Day. Russians are used to the fact that in honor of the holiday is an extra day of rest, but in 2025 in March long weekend should not be expected. Where the day off on March 8: production calendar - 2025

In 2025, Russians will not have an additional day off before the holiday on March 8. This is due to the fact that the holiday falls on a Saturday. Usually in such cases the day off is moved to the next working day, which is specified in Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, but the final decision is made by the Russian government.

In 2025, in accordance with the RF Government Decree No. 1335 dated 04.10.2024, Russians will have an additional day off on June 13, the Friday after Russia Day. Thus, four consecutive days off are planned in June: from the 12th to the 16th day.

In the first month of spring additional days off is not expected, but on March 7, the working day will be reduced by one hour, as the day is pre-holiday. The changes will affect employees working in the usual schedule of five days a week. A total of 20 working days and 10 days off and holidays await Russians in March.

Features of the production calendar for 2025

The usual holiday schedule of weekends and holidays for Russians this year has changed slightly. There will be no additional days off on February 23, or on March 8, told the agency "Prime" HR Director of KROS Dmitry Dudarev.

The expert said that the changes are related to the peculiarities of the formation of the production calendar in 2025. Dudarev explained that this approach ensures an even distribution of long weekends during the year, and also helps to optimize the work calendar and offer Russians a more convenient rest schedule.

The production calendar for 2025 establishes the following transfers of weekends and public holidays:

- from Saturday, January 4 to Friday, May 2;
- from Sunday, January 5 to Wednesday, December 31;
- from Sunday, February 23 to Thursday, May 8;
- from Saturday, March 8 to Friday, June 13;
- from Saturday, November 1 to Monday, November 3.

In total, Russians will rest 118 days this year, and work 247. In May, Russians will twice rest four days in a row, in June - once, also in 2025 December 31 will be a day off.
