Putin granted Russian citizenship to six foreigners

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree granting Russian citizenship to six foreign citizens. The decree was posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

Among the new Russian citizens are German-born Carsten Winkels, Frenchman Gerard Pascal Clement and Italian Fiammette Cucurnia.

Also on the list are Turk Ozturk Kılıç, Ukrainian-born Elena Kovrigina and Igor Pellizziari, born in Croatia.

Earlier, on December 20, 2024, it was reported that Putin gave Russian citizenship to Italian opera director Giancarlo del Monaco. He has staged more than 100 operas in major theaters around the world, including for the Bolshoi Theater.
