Moscow regional court has found Roman Boldyrev, a resident of Podolsk near Moscow, guilty of sabotage and high treason. This was reported on February 21 in the press service of the FSSB in Moscow and Moscow region.
It is specified that Boldyrev got acquainted with a citizen of Ukraine through a chat-bot, after which a person who introduced himself as an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry got in touch with him. Through threats and blackmail, he forced the Russian to carry out a sabotage mission.
He committed arson of a relay cabinet at the Podolsk-Grivno crossing of the Kursk direction of the Kursk railroad, after which he was supposed to publicly burn the Koran in Moscow, but was detained by law enforcers.
The court sentenced the defendant to 15 years in prison, of which he will spend three years in prison and the rest of the term in a strict regime penal colony.
December 16 last year it was reported that the 2nd Western District Military Court passed a sentence on Vasily Zharkov, a resident of the Moscow region, accused of state treason, participation in the terrorist organization "Russian Freedom Legion" (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia) and in the preparation of sabotage at strategic facilities in the Moscow region. On the basis of the totality of the charges, the court sentenced him to 19 years in a strict regime colony.
