Court puts Rostov Region deputy governor Rachalovsky under house arrest

Leninsky district court of Rostov-on-Don has sent Deputy Governor and Minister of Agriculture and Food of Rostov region Konstantin Rachalovsky under house arrest. This was reported to "Izvestia" on February 21 in the press service of the court.

The preventive measure for the defendant in the criminal case of abuse of power is chosen for two months, up to April 17 inclusive.

According to the investigation, Rachalovsky instructed to formalize subsidies at the expense of the federal and regional budgets, knowingly knowing about the difficult financial condition of some enterprises and the illegality of actions to allocate funds. Later, the recipients of the subsidies were declared bankrupt.

Rachalovsky was detained on February 17. The press service of the Federal Security Service of the Rostov region confirmed that a criminal case under Part 3 Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Exceeding official powers") had been opened against the deputy governor. The damage from his actions is estimated at 156 million rubles. At the meeting on February 19, the deputy governor did not admit his guilt.
