Peskov denied Russia's demands for withdrawal of NATO troops from Eastern Europe

Russia did not demand the withdrawal of NATO troops from Eastern Europe during talks with the United States in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this on February 21.
This was his response to a journalist's request to comment on Romania's statement that Russia allegedly demanded the withdrawal of NATO troops in Eastern Europe using the first round of talks with the United States on Ukraine.
"No, that is not true, it is not true. Our position that the advancement of NATO's military infrastructure in several, soon almost a dozen, waves towards our borders causes our concern," Peskov said.
According to him, the corresponding position of Russia is well known to everyone.
Earlier, on February 20, the media said that the US may reduce its military presence in Europe because of priorities in the Asia-Pacific region and the situation on the border with Mexico. The information was confirmed by five U.S. officials and one official familiar with the negotiations.
