The heads of foreign ministries of the 27 countries of the European Union (EU) will approve the 16th package of sanctions against Russia on February 24. This was reported to journalists in Brussels on February 21.

"The ministers will approve the 16th package of individual andeconomicsanctions against Russia," TASS writes, citing a high-ranking European source.

According to media reports, the restrictions include a ban on primary aluminum imports, 73 new shadow fleet ships and 13 banks may be included in the sanctions lists.

Earlier, on February 19, the media reported that the EU representatives agreed on the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. On February 15, the foreign ministries of the G7 countries adopted a communiqué on the topic of imposing new sanctions against Russia. Restrictions were linked to the negotiations on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
