The expert told about spa procedures suitable for men

The share of men visiting spa salons has gradually increased over the past few years, said Olga Ionova, head of spa at Palmira Garden Hotel & SPA. She told Izvestia on February 22 what procedures are most in demand and why.

According to her, unlike female representatives, men prefer shorter spa procedures.

"If you choose a visit to a spa salon as a gift or for a date spot, then you should limit yourself to procedures up to 30 minutes," she advised.

The treatments will help relieve tension, improve overall health and energize.

Speaking about the procedures in demand among such visitors, the expert first of all emphasized massage. Men, as a rule, spend a lot of time driving or working at a desk, which leads to tension in the back, shoulders and neck. Sports or therapeutic massage sessions improve blood circulation, relax muscles and relieve tension. Deep tissue massage helps reduce pain, improves flexibility and maintains overall body tone.

"The second most popular treatment with men turned out to be hydrotherapy. Bath, sauna, hamam are traditionally in demand among men. But we should not forget about whirlpool baths. Steaming helps to cleanse the skin of toxins, improves blood circulation and supports the normal operation of the cardiovascular system. Also, heat procedures contribute to muscle relaxation, which is especially useful after sports training," Ionova said.

She added that constant use of sauna or whirlpool improves immunity and helps to maintain energy levels at a high level.

At the same time, body and facial care is on the third line of in-demand procedures. Men's skin tends to be thicker and rougher, requiring regular cleansing.

"Scrubs based on salt, coffee, seaweed or charcoal help to get rid of keratinized cells, improving the smoothness and texture of the skin. Wraps with various active components (for example, with sea salt or mud) moisturize the skin, remove toxins and improve its elasticity," - said the expert.
