On February 19-21, 2025, Ekaterinburg hosts the Urals Forum "Cybersecurity in Finance" organized by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. Evgeny Rudenko, Director of Cybersecurity at Rambler&Co Media Holding, took part in the session "Cybersecurity as a Competitive Advantage".

For several years Rambler&Co has been showing the highest level of maturity in this area. The media holding has launched several projects to develop cyber security, created its own cyber incident prevention center, and repelled hundreds of attacks and serious DDoS attacks on federal media. At the Urals Forum the CISO of Rambler&Co shared his vision of the role of cyber security in the strategy of modern media, noting that today it is not just a technical task, but an important business tool.

Evgeny Rudenko, Director of Cybersecurity at Rambler&Co: "The cyber resilience of all companies on the market is growing, as business leaders understand the risks that attacks entail - both financial and reputational. For the media, history is very critical: they must be able to promptly deliver correct information and readers must be able to access it, so the stability of our infrastructure is extremely important for the work of publications. This affects the trust of the audience, which often turns to the media as helpers in planning life situations".

During the session, Evgeny Rudenko also emphasized the importance of partnerships between companies and government agencies to share experience and improve cyber defense. "Cooperation in cyber security is the trend of the coming years. Only through joint efforts we will be able to counter growing threats," he said.

Together with Rambler&Co's cybersecurity director, the discussion was attended by representatives of other companies from different spheres of activity: Peter Alferov (Beeline), Sergey Demidov (Moscow Exchange), Ruslan Lozhkin (Absolut Bank), and Igor Kubyshko (T-Bank). The session was moderated by Igor Lyapunov, CEO of Solar Group.

"Over the past three years, there have been major changes in citizens' attitudes towards digital threats. According to one study on the topic of cybersecurity, 69% of users say they would not go back to a company that allowed a data breach. Security along with continuity of service provision or availability of services is becoming a competitive advantage in the fight for customer trust," said Igor Lyapunov.

The Urals Cybersecurity in Finance Forum has become an important platform for sharing experience and discussing key trends in information security. The event brought together leading industry experts, representatives of financial organizations and government agencies to discuss topical issues of data protection, import substitution and operational reliability.
