The State Duma noted the change in Europe's rhetoric towards Russia

Europe's rhetoric towards Russia is gradually changing under pressure from the United States. This was stated by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Friday, February 21. He specified that a full-fledged restoration of relations seems unlikely so far, nevertheless, Europe is interested in Russian resources.
"I have already said that the rhetoric of Western countries will change, and it is changing under pressure from the United States. Europe's economic dependence on the States is very large. At the same time, not everything in this respect suits the U.S., hence the demarches with the introduction of duties and other actions that should equalize the ratio in favor of America," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
The parliamentarian noted that not all leaders of European countries will immediately begin to accept the position of the United States due to the different features of bilateral relations. But sooner or later they will be forced to change the rhetoric, according to the website kp.ru.
"Of course, no one will consider us special friends. They want to see Russia as weak, they want to be able to dictate something. But at the same time they are afraid of our nuclear shield and seek to use our resources," Chepa explained.
Earlier, on February 20, French President Emmanuel Macron said that France is currently not considering direct military involvement in the conflict in Ukraine because it has no fighters, according to the website aif.ru.
Prior to that, Macron said on February 19 that he was ready to hold talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, 360.ru reported.
Ruslan Andreev, a political consultant and an expert of the Polylog Group, said in a conversation with Izvestiya that the French president was trying to become part of the process of settling the Ukrainian crisis with his statements.
