A court has chosen a preventive measure in absentia in the form of remand in custody for the commander of a brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Oleh Apostol, for terrorist acts in Kursk Region. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Telegram-channel on February 21
"At the request of the investigator of the GVSU of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the court elected (in absentia) Apostolu measure of restraint in the form of detention, he is declared in the international wanted list," - stated in the statement of the agency.
It is specified that Apostol, being in the Kursk region, gave orders to his subordinates to carry out bombings of residential houses, as well as civilian infrastructure. In addition, he ordered them to place explosive devices in the streets, which prevented the evacuation of civilians.
At the moment, the investigation is trying to find out his whereabouts.
Earlier, on February 13, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported about the court verdict against the military men of the 22nd separate mechanized brigade of the AFU Anton Furdalenko, Sergey Zavatsky, Vasily Taran and Ruslan Savvakis for crimes committed in Kursk region.
