- The Supreme Court of Ukraine for the first time canceled personal sanctions imposed by Zelensky

For the first time, the Supreme Court of Ukraine has ruled that the imposition of sanctions by the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC) and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy against a private person is illegal. This was reported by the Espreso TV channel on February 21.
The court ruled to invalidate the decree of the SNBO of February 19, 2023, according to which personal sanctions were imposed on a citizen of France Louis-Michel Durey for a period of 10 years.
The sanctions included blocking of assets, a ban on capital withdrawal, suspension of financial obligations and a ban on entry to Ukraine. The court ruling can be appealed against.
Earlier, on February 12, Ukrainian media reported on the imposition of personal sanctions against former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko (a member of the association listed by Rosfinmonitoring as involved in extremist activity or terrorism). Later, on 13 February, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that the sanctions against Poroshenko were due to a threat to national security.
