Lavrov briefed South African President on US-Russian talks


Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov informed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa about the February 18 talks between Russia and the United States in Riyadh. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry on February 21.
The report said Lavrov met with the South African president in Johannesburg.
"The focus of the two countries on the continuation of constructive cooperation on the main topics of the international and regional agenda, including coordination of efforts within the UN, G20 and BRICS, as well as the situation around Ukrainewas emphasized," the ministry said.
Earlier, on February 20, Cyril Ramaphosa said on the margins of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting, answering Izvestia's question, that South Africa continues to work with Russia. Ramaphosa also added that South Africa is open to dialog with many countries.
