In Moscow, the chief engineer of a commercial organization has been approved the charges in the case of a burst hot water pipe in the shopping center "Seasons", which resulted in the death of four people. This was reported on February 21 in the press service of the capital's Prosecutor's office.

"Now before the court will appear 41-year-old chief engineer of the commercial organization, in the conduct of which was located, located in the shopping and entertainment center dangerous production facility in the form of a section of the pipeline of the heating network", - stated in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the combination of technical violations on the defect of the welded connection and the lack of measures for operational safety led to a breakthrough of the supply pipeline of the heating network, which was located on the ground floor of the building.

The man is charged under part 3 of article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities, resulting in major damage, serious harm to human health and causing the death of four persons by negligence").

The bursting of a hot water pipe in the shopping center "Seasons" occurred in July 2023. Four people died as a result of the accident. At least ten were hospitalized with burns of varying degrees of severity. Several more victims were examined by medics right on the spot. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the root cause of the incident was the breakdown of an internal heat pipeline. At the same time, a criminal case was opened over the deaths.
