Republicans have introduced a bill to withdraw the U.S. completely from the U.N.

Representatives of the Republican Party of the United States presented a bill on the complete withdrawal of the country from the United Nations (UN). This was reported by Fox News channel on February 20.
It noted that lawmakers are concerned that the international organization does not defend the interests of Americans and does not correspond to the program of the President of the United States Donald Trump "America First".
The bill implies that the president should completely cancel the US membership in the UN, as well as in any bodies, specialized agencies, commissions and other departments formally associated with the UN, as well as stop its funding and abandon peacekeeping missions.
"The UN has become a platform for tyrants and a place to attack America and its allies," Sen. Mike Lee, one of the initiative's authors, told the publication.
As Fox News notes, the US allegedly provides more funding to the international organization than any other country.
Earlier, on February 4, Trump told reporters that he signed an executive order to reevaluate Washington's involvement in the UN and UNESCO. He also noted the disproportionate funding of the UN, as the United States invests more money there than other participants.
In January, the American leader also signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO). He argued that the population of the People's Republic of China exceeds the number of people living in America, but despite this, China transfers many times less funds to the WHO.
