Macron intends to urge Trump 'not to be weak' in front of Putin

US President Donald Trump should not be "weak" in front of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was stated by the head of France Emmanuel Macron on February 20.
"I'm going to tell him: 'You can't be weak with President Putin. This is not who you are, this is not your hallmark, this is not in your interests,'" France 24 quoted him as saying.
He also added that France has no plans to send troops to Ukraine, but is considering providing security guarantees after peace is reached with Russian Federation.
Earlier, on February 20, Macron said that France is currently not considering direct military involvement in the conflict in Ukraine because they have no fighters.
Before that, on February 19, Macron said that he was ready to hold talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Ruslan Andreev, a political consultant and an expert of the Polylog Group, told Izvestiya that the French president was trying to become part of the process of settling the Ukrainian crisis with his statements.
