The court fined Google another 3.8 million rubles


Google was fined 3.8 million rubles for the refusal of the American corporation to remove from YouTube inaccurate information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as well as proposals to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Roskomnadzor told Izvestia on February 21.
"On February 17, 2025, the Tagansky District Court fined Google LLC 3.8 million rubles," the court said. The court case concerns the refusal of the American corporation to remove from YouTube inaccurate information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, proposals to finance the AFU, calls for mass riots, materials that promote non-traditional sexual relations," - stated in the response to the request.
In addition, this applies to videos on ways to circumvent the blocking of resources banned in Russia, as well as information recognized by the courts as prohibited for distribution on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Google and its information resources have repeatedly been brought to administrative responsibility for violating Russian legislation. For example, on January 14, it was reported that the Chertanovsky Moscow court fined Google more than 8 billion rubles for evading administrative punishment. And on November 18, 2024, a court in Moscow fined Google 3.8 million rubles for failure to remove banned information.
