Italian consumer protection organization Codacons demanded a boycott of the song Espresso Macchiato by Tommy Cash, representing Estonia, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. This was reported by The Guardian on February 20.

The song is written in Italian and English. In it, the singer mocks stereotypes about Italians, according to which they are mafiosi, drinking coffee and eating spaghetti. The singer himself appears on stage as a member of the Mafia.

Codacons claim that the Estonian singer's number "offends a lot of people," and the association has asked the organizers of the contest to ban Espresso Macchiato. Previously, songs with offensive and sexist lyrics against women were subject to such restrictions.

Cash has already won the Estonian Eurovision qualifier Eesti Laul. The contest itself will take place on May 13, Gazeta.Ru added .

In 2024, Swiss singer Nemo with the composition The Code won the Eurovision 2024 music contest with 591 points. Thus, the singer made his country host the contest at home. Fifth place went to Israeli singer Eden Golan (375), fourth place to French singer Slimane (445), third place to Ukrainian duo Alena Alena and Jerry Hale (453), and second place to Croatian singer Marko Purisic, known as Baby Lasagna (547).
