US President Donald Trump may issue an executive order to dissolve the US Postal Service (USPS). The Washington Post(WP) reported on February 20.

"Trump is expected to issue an executive order as early as this week to fire members of the Postal Service's board and place the agency under the control of the Commerce Department," six people familiar with the situation who wished to remain anonymous "for fear of reprisals" told the publication.

At the same time, it is reported that the heads of the service intend to fight such a decree in case of its appearance. Thus, on the same day at an extraordinary meeting, it was decided to hire an "outside consultant" who was instructed to sue the White House if Trump does decide to remove board members and try to change the independent status of the postal agency.

On February 20, NBC reported on U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth' s plans to fire generals and admirals who disagree with Trump. On the same day, the media reported on Trump's plans to dismantle the U.S. Institute of Peace.
