Servicemen of the communication center of the Pacific Fleet visited and congratulated the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Vladimir Maksimovich Kartashev in Vladivostok on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day. This was reported in the press service of the Pacific Fleet on February 21.

"The congratulations were attended by the command of the communication center of the Talnakh Concentration Fleet, a serviceman of the unit with the call sign "Zenith", who distinguished himself in the performance of tasks of the special military operation, as well as the youth guard," the service reported.

During the tea party the veteran recalled and told the guests about his youth and service as a sailor of the Pacific Fleet. In turn, the veteran of the special military operation told Kartashev about his service and combat merits.

During breaks in the conversation, the youth commander performed frontline military songs for the veteran. It is reported that he willingly sang along to the familiar words of his favorite songs.

"Junarmen regularly visit the veteran, provide as much help as possible and take care of his health. Vladimir Maximovich gladly receives guests and shares his life experience," the Pacific Fleet said.

On February 13, veterans of World War II shared their memories for the 80th anniversary of the capture of Budapest. It is noted that the storming of Budapest was one of the bloodiest in the entire war. 80 thousand Soviet soldiers died, and the operation lasted 108 days.
