FSB detains eight Russian citizens who carried out and planned terrorist attacks

Eight Russian citizens who, on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, set fire to transport infrastructure facilities, volunteer organizations, as well as planned to commit terrorist acts in places of deployment of military formations for a minimal reward, have been sentenced to colonies for 22 to 16 years. This was reported by the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia on February 21.

It is specified that the convicts planned or committed illegal acts in the territories of Krasnodar Krai, Belgorod, Kursk, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk and Orenburg regions.

Officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia detained in Kursk 31-year-old Sergei Ch. (articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Terrorist act" and "State treason" - 22 years in a strict regime colony, a fine of 400 thousand rubles) and 31-year-old Maxim M. (articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Diversion" and "State treason" - 20 years and six months in a strict regime colony, a fine of 250 thousand rubles).

In Kemerovo they detained 22-year-old Egor E. (19 years of strict regime colony) and 24-year-old Victoria G. (16 years of general regime colony), who in February-April 2023 they set fire to five objects of railway infrastructure.

In Belgorod, law enforcers detained 20-year-old Ilya (18 years of strict regime colony, 900 thousand rubles fine) for attempting to set fire to air defense facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In Krasnodar they caught a man who on November 20 and December 15, 2023 set fire to relay cabinets at the station "Krasnodar - Sortirovochny" and planned to detonate an improvised explosive device on the territory of the gas station, 26-year-old Eduard G (16 years of strict regime colony, a fine of 300 thousand rubles).

In Orenburg, 28-year-old Alexei G (20 years in a strict regime colony) was convicted of preparation for a terrorist act (part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), state treason (article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and preparation for participation in a terrorist organization (part 1 of article 30, part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In the Chelyabinsk region, 28-year-old Dmitry D. (19 years in a strict regime colony) was convicted in Magnitogorsk for setting fire to a relay cabinet at the 302nd kilometer of the Magnitogorsk-Gruzovoy-Kuibas railroad crossing and an attempt to set fire to a military recruitment center in Magnitogorsk.

On December 10, 2024, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) reported the prevention of 190 terrorist attacks in Russia in 2024.
